The Mattapoisett Democratic Town Committee, or MattDems, is a political committee dedicated to promoting the core values of the Democratic Party; educating our members and the public regarding local, state and national issues; recruiting and supporting candidates for election to public office; and coordinating and fostering relationships with other members and affiliates of the Massachusetts Democratic Party.

The Meeting will feature an in-depth slide show presentation and discussion on the issue of economic inequality and what can be done to address it. The focus will be on Raise Up Massachusetts (RUM), which is building strong coalitions and campaigns to win big victories on these isssues. Raise-Up Massachusetts (RUM) led the victorious campaigns to increase the Mass. minimum wage to $11 an hour and to win the right to paid sick days for Mass. workers. Now, Raise-Up it is working for:
1. Paid Family and Medical Leave
2. The Fair Share Tax Amendment (“Millionaires tax”)
3. A $15/hour minimum wage
