DESCRIPTION:South Coast Democratic Town Committees to Host Screening of Robert Reich Documentary \nThe Democratic Town Committees of Acushnet\, Fairhaven\, Mattapoisett\, and Rochester as well as the Plymouth County Democratic League will host a special screening of The Last Class\, a documentary featuring former U.S. Secretary of Labor and economist Robert Reich\, on Wednesday\, April 15 at 6:30 PM at the AMC Theater in Dartmouth. \nThe film follows Reich during his final semester teaching at UC Berkeley\, weaving together personal reflections with a timely examination of economic inequality\, democracy\, and the importance of civic engagement. The Last Class has been praised for its thoughtful and accessible exploration of issues facing communities across the country. \nFollowing the screening\, attendees are invited to continue the conversation at the nearby Olive Garden\, where a set of tables has been reserved for informal discussion. Meals and beverages will be available for individual purchase. \nTickets are $25 per person and must be purchased in advance. Seating is limited. DESCRIPTION:MATTAPOISETT  DEMOCRATS TO HOLD CANDIDATES’ NIGHT \n  \nOn Wednesday April 29th\, 2026 from 6:00 – 7:30 PM\, The Mattapoisett Democratic Town Committee will host a Candidates’ Night in the downstairs public meeting room of the Mattapoisett Free Public Library. \n  \nAll candidates for any elected position in our upcoming Municipal Election on May 19\, 2026 will be extended an invitation and provided an opportunity to give a brief opening statement to the public and answer questions of attendees. \n  \nThe uncontested race candidates ( Mattapoisett School Committee\, ORR School Committee\, etc.) will proceed first and then the contested races for the Select Board\, Library Board of Trustees\, and Board of Health will be the last of our presentation. \n  \nPlease come with a neighbor\, family member or friend and bring any questions you might have for the candidates or just listen in.
