28 Oct Postcards Party Success! Over 1,000 Postcards and Countless Acts of Kindness
Our September Postcard Party was such a success! Together, we wrote and addressed over 1,000 postcards to voters in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Virginia as part of the Postcards to Swing States effort. These messages will reach voters just before the November 4th elections — a gentle reminder to make a plan and show up at the polls.
We had a wonderful turnout, with participants from Indivisible, and the New Bedford, Fairhaven, Mattapoisett, Marion, Rochester, Acushnet, and Wareham Democratic Town Committees. It was heartening to see so many familiar faces — friends and neighbors who care deeply about democracy and community
To add a little extra creativity and joy to the evening, we also painted Kindness Rocks that will soon be placed in local parks across our region. Each one carries a positive message — small reminders to be kind, stay hopeful, and look out for one another.
The energy in the room was incredible. People talked, laughed, and reflected on why civic engagement matters. Every postcard written and every rock painted was an act of care — for our country and for each other.
I’m deeply grateful to everyone who showed up, rolled up their sleeves, and gave their time. These elections are important — they will decide state supreme court judges and gubernatorial seats that impact people’s lives for years to come. But beyond the postcards and paint, what mattered most was the sense of shared purpose and connection.
The postcards were mailed on October 24th to ensure they arrive right before Election Day. Thank you again to everyone who made this possible — and to all who keep showing up for democracy, in big ways and small.
Together, we’re sending messages that matter — spreading hope, kindness, and participation wherever we can.
