The meeting will feature a special workshop led by <\/span><b>Laura Gardner<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a National Board Certified Teacher in Library Media and Teacher Librarian at Dartmouth Middle School.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gardner\u2019s presentation, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cEmpower Yourself to Take Control of the News and Information You Encounter,\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will explore the challenges of misinformation and disinformation in today\u2019s digital landscape. Participants will learn practical strategies for:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Identifying AI-generated and misleading content<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fact-checking and evaluating sources<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Strengthening personal media literacy skills<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Talking with friends and family members who may have been influenced by misinformation<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gardner brings over 15 years of experience as a Teacher Librarian, recently serving on the prestigious <\/span><b>2024 Newbery Committee<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Beyond her professional expertise, she is a climate activist, avid reader, daily bike commuter, and mom of two.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">This program will give community members the tools they need to navigate the flood of information we all encounter every day.
